John Chapter 8
Preface: Yahshua had been speaking to be heard by all near Him during the last day of the feast of Unleavened Bread, a Holy convocation or gathering commanded by Yahweh and handed to the people of Israel through Moses. The leaders of the ruling religious order of the Jews had sent officials to capture Yahushua, who were unsuccessful due to the officials own doubts of the criminal acts of which Yahushua had been accused of by the Pharisees and leader priests. They developed these doubts because they listened and heard Yahushua's words for themselves. The leaders berated the officials for their lack of success and faulty judgment. One of the leaders, Nicodemus, gave voice to the idea of being more inclined to search these matters out in accordance with the Law that they were governed by as descendants of the forefathers of Israel before condemning Yahushua to being captured and punished in any way. The other leaders gave him a figurative slap in the face and set the matter straight according their perception of what they knew of Yahushua and anyone who sided with Him and His perceived heretical doctrine. Each man left that heated argument and went to his own house.
1) Yahushua went to the Mount of Olives.
2) And at daybreak He came returned to the Temple, and all of the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them.
3) A group of scribes and Pharisees, creating a commotion, interrupted the peace of His teaching by bringing a woman to Him that they had taken captive because she had been caught while in the act of commiting adultery, and when they had forced her into the middle of the gathering,
4) They said to Him: Master... 1320 didaskalos {did-as'-kal-os} - teacher...term of address given to someone who is prepared and able to teach others, or thinks that he is... this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act.
5) Now, Moses in the law commanded us that those of this sort should be stoned; but what do you say?
Leviticus 20:10 And the man that committs adultery with another man's wife, even he who committs adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.
Deuteronomy 22:22 If a man is found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shall you put away evil from Israel.
6) They said this in order to test Him. To ascertain what He would think; and how He would behave in such a circumstance. So that they might have something to bring an accusation against Him with and discredit Him in the eyes of the people who He was teaching; and those all around who believed on Him... *** proving that the term of deference and respect was political and deceptive in its application and had little to do with how they truly felt about Yahushua as they spoke to Him in this manner...; but instead of immediately answering them, as they expected a teacher of the law to do, Yahushua stooped down... leaned forward with his head bowed down as He was sitting... and wrote on the ground with a finger.
*** Note: The man whom this woman had been caught in the act of adultery with was not captured and forced to accompany her to this place of judgment...
This test apparently involved more than a mere citing of scriptural law...
Those who were trying to find something to accuse this teacher of were testing Him, according to their own understanding, to see how He would handle the variables they presented to Him as He interpreted and applied scripture...
Could this apparently common man, who seemed intent on instructing others in the sacred written texts without any recognized training under a rabbi that was known to them, possibly possess a thorough knowledge of the sacred writings and rightly understand the many fine technical details of the teachings and traditions that had been handed down throughout the generations since Moses that would enable him to apply this knowledge properly as a master teacher of Israel? Just who does he think he is; and what are his intentions? He certainly doesn't follow the prescribed rules for behavior according to what they were accustomed to seeing...
7) So, when they who had interrupted the teaching and created this disturbance, all continued asking and insisting that He give an answer... when each of them persisted, without letting up, in asking Him for His opinion of the situation they thought they had carefully created..., He stood up and said to them: Let the one who is without sin... let the one man who cannot be found to be guilty by Yahweh of having violated His commandments... let the one man who is not worthy of being stoned to death according to the same set of laws that this woman is being accused of breaking... that is amongst you throw the first stone at her; and begin leading the rest of the people in killing her.
*** Out of the blue left field comes an answer that they had not expected; and it encircled all of the variables that they had thought to test Yahushua with... Without directly addressing their cunningly crafted traps of words and meanings... Yahushua is pointing out that their own perception of the law... of torah... is flawed... that there is more to being a credible, irrefutable witness, of which there needs to be at least two, than having seen a violation of Yahwehs' commandments with the physical eye...
8) He then stooped down... sat down and leaned forward with His head bowed down... and wrote on the ground again.
9) When those who had come to test Him heard and began to understand what Yahushua had said. Each of them, being convicted... 1651 elegcho {el-eng'-kho} - refuted... exposed... admonished... convinced... by their own individual conscience... as they were convinced and exposed by the consciousness within each of them that enabled them all to not only know the difference between moral good and moral bad; but also to take an appropriate action accordingly... All of them left the center of the gathering one by one. Beginning at the eldest and continuing until the last of them had gone out of the center of the people that they had disrupted; and Yahushua was left alone. The woman, who had been captured and forced to come there, was still standing in the middle of the people whom He had been teaching at the beginning of the disruption.
*** Note: While they may have at least been partially correct in their ethical approach in accordance with the faith that they placed on their knowledge and memory of the writings of scripture; Yahushua hit them with the force and impact of the concept that they each must be not only ethically correct; but also 'morally clean' within themselves before Yahweh in order to testify against someone else and cause condemnation and death to happen; and that this logic had been set aside by them purposely...
Yahushua exposed a glossed over 'moral conflict of interest' that day within those who thought themselves the religiously elite judges and master teachers of Israel...
This illumination continues to be timeless...
10) When Yahushua stood up again; and saw no one there except the woman, He said to her: Woman, where are your accusers? Has no man judged you to be worthy of punishment?
Deuteronomy 19:15 15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sins: at the mouth... according to the testimony... of two witnesses, or at the mouth... according to the testimony... of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.
Deuteronomy 17:6-7 6 At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death. At the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death. 7 The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So you shall put the evil away from among you.
11) She said: No man, Master. And Yahushua said to her: Neither do I find you worthy of punishment; Go... leave and go your way... and do not sin... do not violate torah... do not violate the instructions that Yahweh has given His People for living according to Yahweh's Order... any more.
12) Then Yahusha returned His attention to the people whom He had been teaching before the interruption, by saying: I am the light of the world... I am the light... the illumination... the illuminating life force... that exposes and refutes the true nature of the order of things that all mankind is made of..., anyone who joins me... 190 akoloutheo {ak-ol-oo-theh'-o} - anyone who accompanies me as an attendant or disciple as I precede him/her along this path of life that I am making progress on... will not walk... 4043 peripateo {per-ee-pat-eh'-o} - will not live... will not regulate his/her life... in darkness... 4653 skotia {skot-ee'-ah} - in ignorance of Yahwehs' Order... in blindness due to a lack of the light that is normally a part of Yahwehs' Order..., but will have the light... the illumination... of life... will have the exposure to and the ability to recognize the existence of true life within himself/herself... life that is as it ought to be within Yahwehs' Order... a state of existence that is timeless, majestic in splendor, and in which one is abundantly, consciously aware of the knowledge of Yahweh, His Order; and that they are an integral, intimate part of that state of existence that is as it ought to be...
13) The Pharisees, for this reason, said to Him: You bear witness of yourself, the testimony that you give is not a true witness.
14) Yahushua answered and said to them: Although I bear witness of myself, my testimony is truthful; because I know where I originated from, and where I am going; but you cannot perceive where I originate from, and where I am going.
15) You make your opinions concerning right and wrong according to the rationale of the flesh... Your thoughts, feelings and actions are formed within you according to influence of the sensuous nature of man. This nature is separate from the influence of Yahweh, His Spirit, and His Order; and you are, accordingly, prone to violation of Yahwehs' Order, and in opposition to Yahweh...; I judge... I, personally, from my own will and purpose as a son of man... as a son of mankind..., form an opinion of right and wrong of... no one;
16) And yet if I do form an opinion of right and wrong... as the Son of My Father..., the formation of my opinion is based on the love of the truth. Because I am not alone in my rationale; I share it with the Father who sent me.
17) It is also written, in YOUR law, that the testimony of two men is truthful.
18) I am one who bears witness of myself... as the Son of my Father, Yahweh...; and the Father who sends me gives testimony of me.
19) Then they said to Him: Where IS your Father? Yahushua answered: You neither perceive who I am nor who my Father is; If you had the understanding of who I am, you would have an understanding of who my Father is as well.
20) Yahushua spoke these words in the treasury as He taught in the temple; and no man captured Him because His appointed time had not yet arrived.
21) Than Yahushua said to them again: I am leaving, and you will look for me, and will die in your sins... I am leaving this order of things; and you will continue to look for the me, the Anointed One, after I am gone; and you will die as you look for and wait for me to appear in history while you are still violating the instructions that Yahweh gave His People for living life that are from His Order... Where I am going you cannot follow... You will not ever be able to go to where I am going, which is the place where Yahweh dwells; and where His Order IS at all times. Where all things are "as they ought to be."...
22) Then those who were there; and who were of of the religious ruling order of the Jews said: Will He kill Himself? Because He said that HE was going where THEY could not follow.
23) And He said to them: You are from below; I am from above; You are a part of this world... you are a part of this order of things which does not... cannot... recognize Yahweh or His Order...; I am NOT a part of this order.
24) It is for this reason that I said that you will die in your sins... You... you who are of the mindset that is sensual and earthy... you who are full of the wisdom and knowledge of the order of things that makes up mankind... You do not recognize WHo or What I am even though I am now in front of you; and it is for this reason that you who are of this logic and rationale, collectively, will never see me... will never see Yah's Salvation... appear in future history; and will die while in violation of Yahwehs' Torah... in rebellion to Yahweh's Order...
25) Then they said to Him: Who ARE You? And Yahushua said to them: I am whatever I had spoken to you of since the beginning.
26) I have much to say and to judge... I have much to evaluate... to form an opinion of right and wrong about... as the Son of my Father... regarding you: But He who sent me is speaking the truth; and I speak to the world... and I speak to the order of things created by Yahweh that does not recognize Him... and I speak to the order that all mankind is a part of... about those things that I have heard from Him.
27) They did not understand that He spoke to them about the Father.
28) Then Yahushua said to them: When the Son of Man has been exalted... has been lifted up... has been killed by being raised up on a torture stake; and when He has been caused to rise up from the condition of His fleshly body being dead; and when He is finally recognized for Who and What He IS by those whom the Father Has drawn toward Him... it is then that you will know that I exist even though you do not recognize me; and it is then that you will realize that I do nothing from any sense of my own will or purpose; but instead, as my Father has taught me; I speak THESE things.
29) And He who has sent me is in/with/within me: the Father has not left me alone; because I ALWAYS do the things that please Him.
30) As He spoke these words, many believed on Him.
31) Then Yahushua said to those of the ruling religious order of the Jews standing nearby and listening, who believed on... who placed their confidence and trust in... Him: If you continue in MY word... if you continue with the concepts or ideas that I have spoken of... then you are truly my disciples... my students... my followers... my companions;
32) And you will know the truth, and the truth that you will become aware of will make you free... will give you liberty... will make you free from the dominion... of the order and the disposition of sin... of error... of not being... existing... as you ought to be...
33) They answered Him: WE are the seed... 4690 sperma {sper'-mah} - we are the product produced by the seed... we are the offspring... we are the descendants... of Abraham, and we have never been in bondage... 1398 douleuo {dool-yoo'-o} - we have never been deprived of our freedom and reduced to a state of being in bondage...we have never been brought onto a condition of being dominated... we have never been brought under subjection... we have never owed our allegiance... our devotion... our loyalty... to any man: How is it that you say to us: You will be made free?.... set at liberty?...
*** Note: Some of those men standing around and listening while Yahushua taught that group of people , even though they had been raised up thinking, feeling, and taking action in their lives according to what they then knew, had become persuaded within their own individual minds to believe what Yahushua was telling them about Himself; but when He began speaking of them being slaves to a dominion and disposition that they did not perceive themselves to be a part of, they took exception to the concept He was presenting.
34) Yahushua answered them: Truly I tell you: Whoever it is that commits sin... whoever it is that lives their life in error... in the attitude and manner that violates torah... whoever refuses to be naturally obedient to the instructions for living life that are of Yahweh and His Order... is the servant... 1401 {doo'-los} - is the slave who owes allegiance to; and is devoted to serving the one whose dominion is that... of sin... 266 hamartia {ham-ar-tee'-ah} - of error... of being mistaken... of the disposition of, or natural inclination toward missing the path of life that is upright and honorable in the eyes of Yahweh... of being in a condition of being unable to partake of the approval of Yahweh because of not being a part of His Order...
35) And the servant... the one who has given himself over to the dominion of being in a state or condition of existence that is in error... does not remain in the house... the household that is of the order that the Master of the household desires... forever; but the Son of the Master of the household... whether natural or adopted... always remains.
***Note: The authoritative power of the master of a household is that of being able to make or revoke the status of sonship based upon criteria that is according to the order of things that are approved of by the master of that household... This is the very reason why those who became immersed into the authority of the name of Yahushua were disowned... they were displaced... removed from their place as sons and daughters; and having lost that status, they lost any rights of family inheritance... from the households which they had been a part of since they were born. This was done because they were viewed, by the masters of those houses, as being a part of an order of things that were foriegn and not acceptable in those households any longer after having made such a public statement...
36) These things being so, if the Son will make you free... if the Son of Yahweh will give you liberty from the dominion of the disposition of sin..., then you will, in fact, truly and in reality, BE FREE.
37) I know that you are the offspring... the genealogical descendants... of Abraham; but you are striving to kill me because my word has no place in you... Even though you are natural descendants of Abraham, you are not a part of the order of things that is of the household that I am a part of; and because I am not a part of your order of things, which you understand as being right, you want to be rid of me because I am upsetting to your order of things; and what I have to say and do while I am among you is not a part of who and what you naturally are...
38) I speak of what I have seen that has come from MY Father; and you do... 4160 poieo {poy-eh'-o} - you produce... you form... you make... you cause or bring about actions ... that are according to what you have perceived from YOUR Father.
39) They answered and said to Him: Abraham is our father... Abraham is the one who is our originator; and it is His ideology and spirit that motivates us to do as we do... Yahushua said to them: If you WERE Abraham's children you would do the works of Abraham.
40) But now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth. The True Truth which I have heard from Yahweh. Abraham did not do this.
41) You do the deeds of YOUR father. Then they said to Him: We have not been born because of the act of fornication... we are not illegitimate children who have been born with the spirit that is from the result of fornication with other elohim... from the worship of idols...; We only have one father... one originator whose spirit we are motivated by; and that is..., Yahweh.
42) Yahushua said to them: If Yahweh WERE your father... your originator; and if His spirit is what causes you to think, feel and decide things..., then you would love ME. You would love me because I was born of and have come from Yahweh. Nor have I come to this time and place in history to be recognized for Who and What I am from the drive of my own will and purpose; but instead, it is He... it is Yahweh... Who has SENT me.
43) Why don't you understand... 1097 ginosko {ghin-oce'-ko} - the words I say? Because you cannot hear... 191 akouo {ak-oo'-o} - you can't perceive the sense of what I am saying... You can't understand what I say because it is impossible for you to comprehend my logic and rationale...
44) You are from your father... you are from your originator... from the one who is the author of your societal structure and who has animated you with the same spirit that he has... who is the devil... 1228 diabolos {dee-ab'-ol-os} - the false accuser..., and the lusts... the longings... the cravings... the deep down inherent desires... of your father you will do. He was a murderer... 443 anthropoktonos {anth-ro-pok-ton'-os} - a mankiller... since the beginning... 746 arche {ar-khay'} - since the origin of killing men began to exist...; and even though he was surrounded by and aware of Yahwehs' Order, he did not cause himself to remain in the Truth... in the Reality... of Yahwehs' Order because there is no truth... no reality... within him. ...He left his first estate... He left his original state or condition... He left the Reality of Yahweh's Order that he was originally a part of... When he speaks a lie... 5579 pseudos {psyoo'-dos} - When he uttersa conscious and deliberate falsehood... When he speaks of whatever is not what it seems to be..., he speaks from the depths of what pertains to himself. He does this because he is a liar... 5583 pseustes {psyoos'-tace} - he is one who is false and faithless...; and he is the forefather... the progenitor... the principal beginner... of the same inherent nature and mindset;
45) And you do not believe me because I teach and speak of the truth.
46) Which one of you exposes... brings to light the shame of... sin... the pathway of error... of mistake... in me? Who among you can point out and convince me, by argument or proof of some kind, that I have left the pathway of life that is honorable and upright; and without rebellion against Yahweh... If you cannot expose rebellion against Yahweh and His Order in me; and I speak the truth, then why do you not believe me?
47) He that is from Yahweh understands the words of Yahweh: You, for this reason, do not understand them, because you are not from Yahweh.
48) Then those of the religiious order of the Jews answered and said to Him: Do we not speak truth by saying that you are a Samaritan... that you are of mixed heritage... that you are one of the accursed of Israel..., and that you have a demonic spirit?
49) Yahshua answered: I do not have a demonic spirit; but I do Honor my Father; and you do dishonor me... 818 atimazo {at-im-ad'-zo} - you insult me... you treat me with contempt...
50) I do not say this about you because I am striving to be recognized by advocating my own viewpoint. There is one who searches out and judges... There has always been one who seeks out, evaluates, and and forms an opinion of the right and wrong of anything...
51) Truly, I tell you, that if a man gives careful attention to my sayings, then he will never see... 2334 theoreo {theh-o-reh'-o} - look at... consider... mentally view... death.
52) Then those who were from the religious order of the Jews said to Him: Now we know for certain that you have a demonic spirit. Abraham is dead, and so are the prophets; and yet, you say: If a man gives careful attention to what I say, then he will never experience death.
53) Are you greater than our forefather Abraham, who is dead? And the prophets... those who spoke, in past history, because of having been influenced and inspired to do so from Yahweh Himself... are dead as well: Who DO you perceive yourself to BE?
54) Yahshua answered: If I glorify myself, then I have no honor: It is my Father who causes my dignity and worth to be recognized. YOU say that He is your Supreme Soveriegn;
55) And yet you have not known... you have not gotten an intimate knowledge of... you have not learned to know... Him; but I do know... I do understand... Him. If I would say that I do not know... that I do not understand... Him, then, I would be a liar just as you are; but I do know Him; and I attend carefully to the ideas and the concepts which He speaks and teaches to me.
56) Your forefather Abraham rejoiced to see my day coming to pass; and he perceived and understood the force and meaning of my day; and he was glad because of it.
57) Then those who were of the religious order of the Jews said to Him: You are not yet fifty years old, and YOU have seen ABRAHAM?
58) Yahushua said to them: Truly I tell you, before Abraham was... 1096 ginomai {ghin'-om-ahee} - before Abraham came into existence... before Abraham was fathered and given birth to from his mothers womb ..., I am... 1510 eimi {i-mee'} - I existed...
*** Note: Ephesians chapter 1:3-6... "before the foundation of the world..." Yahweh's Blueprint of this Creation. Designed with Yahushua as the epicenter... Being formed continually even now... SELAH!
59) Then they picked up stones so that they could kill Him with them; but Yahushua hid Himself and went out of the temple through the middle of them, and in this manner departed.
